Very Good - Perfect performance but may include 1-2 blemishes, marks or scratches. Good - Perfect performance but may include 3 -4 blemishes, marks or scratches. 2. Why? Great question! As photographers ourselves, we found it difficult to privately sell our gear when it came time to upgrade. Sure, you could head over to FB Marketplace, Gumtree, even eBay, but the sheer amount of time-wasters and scammers was overwhelming. Like seriously, why ask "Is it still available?", only to never respond again when you say "yes"! So we created cameratrade.com.au, where every single account must use two-factor authentication, and buyers and sellers are rated by those they transact with. Over time, both buyers and sellers work hard to protect their rating. And when it goes wrong, we're here to intervene and guide a mutually agreeable resolution.
  3. By submitting an advertisement on Camera Trade, you agree to follow these guidelines and understand that at Administrator's discretion, inappropriate actions or deliberate misuse of the classifieds will result in access being removed, and/or banning from the website. The Camera Trade Classifieds are provided for use by private individuals, and authorised sponsors . Those working in the industry or conducting a commercial business are also permitted to use the Classifieds, however they MUST declare their commercial interests within their advertisement. Advertisements found to be commercial in nature with no disclosure will be deleted without warning or notification. FREE FOR A LIMITED TIME - You also understand that the use of these classifieds requires payment either Up Front, or Upon Sale (Commercial Members excluded) - these fees are shown to you when you create an Ad. The fee varies depending on the method chosen. While we appreciate that at times life presents some difficulties, we no not accept reasons such as "my car needs servicing, my rent is due, or my dog needs an operation" as reasons for not paying Seller's Fees. Seller's Fees are compulsory. All advertisements are checked and approved by Adminstrators. Do not PM/email admin or volunteers asking why your advertisement is not approved. If there is a problem with your ad, you will receive a Warning or Alert outlining the problem, and have the opportunity to edit and fix your advertisement. All advertisements are considered active for 14 days. After the ad has expired, a Repost button appears on your advertisement (depending on whether your ad type was Pay Up Front or Pay on Sale). If you repost your advertisement before an ad has expired, both advertisements will be deleted and you will receive a warning. Note, for Pay On Sale advertisements, Seller's Fees are still required if the item sells via Camera Trade after your advertisement has expired. Feature your advertisement - once your advertisement has been posted, a Pin & Feature Ad button also appears that allows you to pay a small fee to pin the advertisement for X days. Seller's Fees are still due upon a successful sale. Important Information It is a condition of use that once your advertisement is SOLD, you use the Mark as Sold button. Buyers are encouraged to make use of the Purchased button that is displayed on all advertisements. You must not include "advertised elsewhere" within your ad, or direct members to another platform for communication, or in any way attempt to circumvent the payment of Seller's Fees on Camera Trade. If your item sells on Camera Trade and you do not mark it as sold, this will be considered a deliberate act to avoid payment of Seller's Fees and Classifieds access willl be removed. Multiple items should be listed as individual advertisements. You can sell an item for a friend or on behalf of someone else, however the item advertised must be in your possession, and you will be responsible for all aspects of the transaction (including handling payment and trader feedback). It is your reputation on the line. You must include original photos of the product being sold or your ad will not be approved. Flipping' is the practice of on-selling an item purchased and re-advertising/selling the item for a profit. It is not in the spirit of the Camera Trade community, and is frowned upon. Blatant misuse of our Classifieds for this reason may see further advertisements not approved. Do not include contact information such as email or phone numbers in your advertisement. All communication is to take place via the Contact Seller button shown on advertisements. Links to external platforms such as eBay or Gumtree within your advertisement is not permitted. Under no circumstance should you edit your advertisement to remove the content or remove the pricing. Please do not add or include Pending, Price Drop, Bargain, or any variation of these terms in the Subject/Title of your advertisement. Admin is informed when you edit your ad, and these edits will be removed. Payment Considerations Camera Trade encourages the use of Paypal only as payment method unless you are picking up the item for sale in person. Note we strongly do not recommend the use of Paypal Friends & Family payment, as it offers no protection for buyers/sellers. No responsibility will be taken by Camera Trade for transaction issues between two parties. In the event of a dispute, your first option is to open a Paypal dispute. You should also consider making use of the Trader Feedback system. It is up to the buyer and the seller to come to an agreement about all aspects of the transaction. It is very strongly advised that you discuss a DOA (dead on arrival) policy, whether the seller wishes to offer a limited warranty, and whether the item is to have insurance on shipping. Also, discuss who pays the insurance excess should a claim need to be lodged. It is not unreasonable to ask for a third party to inspect the goods prior to the sale if this is an interstate transaction. By common convention - if the item can be proven to work before it is dispatched and if it arrives undamaged, that is the end of the seller's responsibility. White-anting Members posting nuisance replies (criticism of products or pricing either up or down, off topic discussions etc) will have their offending posts being deleted, and possible warnings/suspension. You may not make any post which may potentially undermine the sale, including questioning the price being too cheap or too expensive, starting rumours about the provenance of the unit, adding negative comments to an advertisement in order to prevent it being sold or to create doubt as to the sellers intentions or actions. If you have concerns, report the post to Volunteers, or take it up directly with the seller via the Private Message system. Seller's Choice of Buyer By replying to a listing or contacting the seller, it does not guarantee you are "first-in". It is entirely up to the seller who they wish to sell their products to, and in any order. A seller may prefer to sell locally, rather than to someone who they will have to ship the product to. Administrators reserve the right to question, edit, close, disapprove, or issue warnings for any advertisement that does not comply with these guidelines. Camera Trade will not necessarily intervene or investigate transactions or disputes but reserves the right to discuss issues with parties, and may warn or suspend accounts found or suspected of fraudulent activity.
